How to get rid of a discolored spot on a piano?

We are getting an antique piano. It has a lovely mahogany finish, but on top there is a medium-sized circle that is many shades lighter than the rest of the wood. It’s disgusting how much this spot sticks out. This is a beautiful piano otherwise and I hate to look at that discolored spot. Is there any way to fix it?

Well I guess there are two things that you could do: re-stain it or you could get like a flower vase or something like that to put over it so it doesn’t show.

put a canvas wrap over it
